Stoughton Hall/Hollis Hall
Stoughton and Hollis Halls are connected. William Stoughton (AB 1650), lieutenant governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony, provided funds for the original building. He presided at the Salem Witch Trials. [read more] Hollis Hall, Harvard's fourth oldest building, was constructed in 1763 by the Province of Massachusetts to relieve crowded living conditions in the Old Yard.
