Payoff is a suspenseful short film, directed by Jeremy Traub. The film centers on a standoff between two individuals who each unveil a carefully plotted series of secrets, only revealing the complete truth in the final moment of the film.

Color correction for Payoff dealt largely with raising luminance levels while preserving the quality of the image. The detail provided by the HDV format allowed for more flexibility in the effort than with standard DV. Often only regions of the frame were effected, to draw attention to the faces and figures looming about the still smokey and dark hotel room.
