A Saint In My Garden :: director / editor / director of photography :: In Post-Production

G. K. Chesterton wrote of St. Francis of Assisi: "Never was any man so little afraid of his promises. His life was one riot of rash vows: of rash vows that turned out right." Adele Travisano is a Medford painter who has made the sometimes-whimsical and often deeply spiritual stories of St. Francis the recent subject of a new series of oil and collage paintings. In the film she shares these stories, her painting process and how she came to know the medieval, Italian man.

The film both playfully and deeply connects the themes of St. Francis's life to those of Travisano's personal story: family and food; spirituality and expression; virtue and vice; responsibility to others and the need to follow one's own passion - and all the stuff of life that brings it gravity, joy and meaning.
